All the AR-15 handling you rely on, at a fraction of the operating cost. The Hammerli Tac R1 .22 LR 16″ brings .22 LR economics to a genuinely familiar platform for training, plinking, and recreational use.

A semi-automatic AR-15 rifle chambered in .22 LR, the Hammerli Tac R1 .22 LR 16″ combines direct impingement operation with standard AR-15 architecture for straightforward reliability.

High-Volume Training: With .22 LR ammunition costing a fraction of centerfire equivalents, this platform lets you triple your round count for the same budget — ideal for developing real proficiency.

Direct AR-15 Skills Transfer: The controls, sights, and handling are identical to a centerfire AR-15. Time behind this trigger directly translates to better performance on larger-caliber platforms.

Minimal Recoil: Negligible recoil makes this rifle forgiving for new shooters and helps experienced shooters refine their technique without managing muzzle rise or flinch.

Versatile Application: From backyard plinking to small game hunting, the .22 LR platform is genuinely useful beyond just training — a practical secondary role for a low-cost rifle.
