Running 9mm in an AR-15 chassis, the CMMG DISSENT BR5 9mm 16.1″ gives you reduced recoil, accessible ammunition costs, and a platform that shares controls with any AR-15 you already shoot.
The CMMG DISSENT BR5 9mm 16.1″ is a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle chambered in 9mm, built around direct impingement operation for reliable cycling on the AR-15 platform.
Competition Ready: Pistol caliber carbines are a growing force in USPSA and other competitions — this platform is well-suited for PCC-class competition straight from the box.
Reduced Operating Costs: Running 9mm cuts per-round costs compared to rifle ammunition, extending how long you can train on a set budget without giving anything up in terms of practice value.
Familiar AR-15 Controls: Standard AR-15 ergonomics mean any AR-trained shooter can transition to this PCC with minimal adjustment — the same manual of arms, the same muscle memory.
Effective Home Defense: The 16.1″ barrel optimizes 9mm velocity for defensive use while the carbine format provides handling advantages over handguns in a home or property defense role.
