Geissele’s Freedom Weapon MOD1-A platform in its 8-inch 5.56 NATO SBR configuration — built to the same specifications trusted by elite professionals, in DDC. The Freedom Weapon MOD1-A brings Geissele’s cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel, fully ambidextrous MOD1-A controls, and SSA-X Wide Body Lightning Bow trigger to a compact short-barreled format with MK16 M-LOK rail and GFW dual-telescoping stock.
The Geissele Freedom Weapon MOD1-A is a 5.56 NATO short-barreled rifle featuring a 8-inch cold hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel with 1:7 twist, Phased Array gas system with Tri-Port technology, SSA-X Wide Body Lightning Bow trigger, fully ambidextrous MOD1-A controls, and a DDC finish. 1/2×28 threaded muzzle. 7″ MK16 M-LOK rail. GFW dual-telescoping stock. Geissele A17 grip.
Four features define the Freedom Weapon MOD1-A’s performance advantage. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel — HPT and MPI tested — provides dimensional consistency and service life that exceeds standard button-rifled alternatives, and the chrome lining resists fouling and corrosion through the sustained fire schedules that duty and professional use generates. Fully ambidextrous MOD1-A controls include a left-side magazine release below the Maritime Bolt Catch, right-side bolt catch and release buttons below the ejection port, and a dust-cover-actuated bolt catch lock — a system that enhances speed and consistency on both sides rather than merely accommodating the non-dominant hand. The SSA-X Wide Body Lightning Bow trigger provides the crisp, predictable break that precision work demands with a wide Lightning Bow for positive trigger control through gloves and under stress. Phased Array gas system with Tri-Port technology ensures reliable cycling suppressed or unsuppressed, with supersonic and subsonic ammunition, without requiring user adjustment.
